First Continental Congress- Group of people who met to oppose British rule. Every colony except for Georgia sent a representative. They met on September 5, 1774 for the first time.

Second Continental Congress- They met because the British ignored the First Continental Congress and they were more persistent. They debated whether or not to dissolve all political connection to Great Britain.

|
|
|
|
George Washington- The first President of the United States and was also part of the First Continental Congress.
